Katanning Multicultural Festival (Friday)

Three weeks ago Mary and I photographed the Katanning Multicultural Festival for the Shire of Katanning (where we live). This is a three day event the features citizens, most of them local, displaying their cultural clothing, food, song, and dance. Some of the cultures featured were Afghan, Pakistani, Indian, Christmas Islander, Aborigine, and White Australian. We had a great time and enjoyed some wonderful vegetarian food. The highlight of the weekend was a visit by Mary’s mom and dad who came to Katanning for a visit and to attend the festival.

Sunset in Kantanning

This evening Mary and I decided to sit outside behind our house to watch the sunset so I thought I would get a few photographs to show you what beautiful sunsets we have here. These photos were taken from the field behind our house. The first is looking away from our house and the second is turning around and facing the back of our house (nice moon).

A Day at the Wagin Woolorama

Today Mary and I decided to get out of town for the day and attend the Wagin Woolorama. It’s a wool festival and trade show. I would have to say that neither of us was very impressed. I guess you would have to be into sheep farming to really enjoy this festival. Animals played a big part in the festival so I got lots of photographs of them. I feel sorry for the animals. Some of them were not treated very well (sheep shearing competition). Here are some of the photographs I took:
